It’s very important to protect your skin when you’re in the sun for multiple reasons; skin cancer, wrinkles and just to prevent to look like a tomato. Not all sunscreens are vegan though I’ve researched the top 5 Vegan Cruelty-Free Sunscreens that are also really good and affordable.
1. For The Sensitive Skin: Glossier Invisible Shield~ $41
The Glossier Invisible Shield sunscreen is a little bit on the more expensive side but if you have sensitive skin, this is the one I would go for. It’s water-based so it will feel very light on your skin and soak in nicely.
2. The Popular One: Sun Bum ~$15.99
Sun Bum’s sunscreen is very popular and well known for being good for fair and sensitive skin. You can choose from SPF 15, 30, 50, and 70.
The have tons of other products such as lotion, lip balm, and cool down-gel.
This sunscreen ticks all my boxes! They’re organic, vegan reef safe and the brand is very committed to sustainability. All of their packagings is recyclable, reusable, compostable, and/or plastic-free.
4. Most Affordable: Alba Botanica Hawaiian Green Tea ~$7.97
Unfortunately, while free of the worst reef offenders, this vegan sunblock does contain octocrylene, which the EWG identifies as an ingredient to avoid because it might be damaging reefs.
